Old Fashioned Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Old Fashioned Oatmeal Raisin Cookies IN

If you have been following this blog, you know I like molasses in my cookies. I also like oatmeal raisin cookies. I found this recipe on the Betty Crocker recipe site and had to give it a try because it has both.

The link for the recipe is here:

I followed the instructions for mixing.

I put them on the tray as instructed and put them in the oven.

When I baked them, I found they came out a bit better if I cooked them for 11 minutes which is a bit more than recommended. They seemed to set up better.

I did find they were a lot easier to take off the sheet if I let them cool on the sheet for a few minutes.

The Verdict

These are a very nice cookie. They have a good sweet molasses tang with the texture of the oatmeal. I was a little disappointed they weren’t chewy from the oatmeal but they seemed to disappear rapidly.

  1. This is about the same recipe that my daughter uses with the molasses. I do love them this way, I’ll have to check her recipe to see if it’s the same. I’m sure by now they are all gone!!!
