Summer is here and you can have small gatherings outside and still be within our local pandemic guidelines. I like to have premade dips for when I have company over as I can make it ahead and spend time with my guests. This cheesy ham dip is perfect.

The recipe calls for minced ham. You can mince leftover ham, sandwich ham from the deli or canned ham. I used a chef knife but you can pulse it in a food processor if you’d prefer.

I mix all the ingredients except the hot sauce in a large bowl. Add the hot sauce to taste. I used Sriracha but Tabasco or any other hot sauce works well.

Cover the dip and put it in the fridge for from 3 hours to overnight for the flavours to marry.

Serve cold with crackers, chips or raw vegetable chunks.

Here is a video of me making this dip.

The Verdict:

This is so easy yet very tasty. The ham gives it a salty background, the cheddar gives it a sharp taste and it has a nice creamy texture.
