In a previous post, I spoke about our Aviation Disaster, we ran out of Aviation Gin. My friend, Heather, had brought us some from the big city but it wasn’t available in our local liquor store. The search was on! Fortunately, the local BC Liquor Store manager ordered a case of Aviation gin so we could get some and now the store has it in stock. We were rescued. We had to come up with a cocktail to celebrate. Welcome to the Aviation Search and Rescue.
It was my friend, Bill, who came up with the recipe.
We mashed some raspberries through a sieve to make a raspberry puree. We put that, the Aviation gin and Disaronno in a cocktail shaker half filled with ice.
I shook it hard until the shaker was frosted and strained the drink into a martini glass.
I garnished with raspberries.
The Verdict
Great job, Bill! This has a nice smooth taste with the Disaronno giving the drink a smooth taste and the raspberries give some sweet and tart notes. The Aviation gin gives a nice freshness. Even She Who Must Be Obeyed liked this a lot and she doesn’t go for mixed drinks so much.
