Classic Daiquiri
When I was young, a Daiquiri was rum, lime juice and sugar. Somehow, they have turned into a frozen Slurpee like concoction that is more like a dessert than a refreshing beverage. My friend invited me over and we returned to a simpler time. Continue reading Classic Daiquiri
Classic Martini
I never was that fond of Martinis. However, I am going through a binge of trying classic cocktails. On reading, I think I found out why I don’t care for modern martinis. Caipirinha
My friend, Bill, had seen an Anthony Bourdain show where he was in Brazil and they served this drink. He had wanted one ever since. As I had posted a couple of cocktail posts, he searched out and found a bottle of Cachaca which is the liquor base of this cocktail. He came over and we made our first Caipirinha.

Mount Gay Hot Chocolate
It has turned cold again here in the mountains. This is not unusual for March. So, sitting on the deck with a beer after some garden work has returned to huddling inside to keep warm. Continue reading Mount Gay Hot Chocolate
