I have been growing haskap berries for a few years now. They are a hardy berry that is tarter than blueberries but have a nice fruit taste in baking. They are already ripe even here in the mountains. She Who Must Be Obeyed makes great shortbread. She always has. This year she tried a new recipe from Robin Hood. It is a winner.

These have the melt in the mouth texture of shortbread with the chew of a New Brunswick Oatcake. I love them. She Who Must Be Obeyed is complaining because she has just made the third batch of them. Apparently, I am eating them too quickly. Sigh, she is likely right this time.
I will continue to obey the missus just to get her to make these every year.
