I had meetings in town. I was going to a Toastmaster Meeting in the evening. We needed a quick meal.
We took some loin chops, sprinkled on some Cabela’s Open Season Pecan Honey Seasonings and grilled them. Continue reading Barbecued Pork Chops, A Quick Meal
Sometimes you just need a really good steak. We normally buy the lower grades of beef you find in the supermarket coolers. Last night, we cooked up a prime top sirloin. Prime is a higher grade of beef and it really does make a difference in the beef. Now, don’t get me wrong, we’ve enjoy a good grade A or AA steak but the Prime is better. So, a good steak dinner was in the works. Continue reading Sometimes You Just Need A Good Steak
It was minus 10 so it must be barbecue weather. She Who Must Be Obeyed wanted Onion Bacon Baked Potatoes. I did as she bade.
These are quite easy to make. Continue reading Onion Bacon Baked Potatoes On The Grill
I like Montreal Steak spice. Unfortunately, it comes with a drawback. It has a lot of salt. She Who Must Be Obeyed notes that is bad for me (I hate it when she is right). Also, I think a lot of salt on grilled meat makes it a bit drier. I have no proof of that except my experience. Continue reading Club House La Grille No Salt Added Steak Spice, Makes a Good Burger

I like Old Bay Spice and I like blackened fish. This product seemed like a natural. I started with a piece of cod. I melted some butter in a cast iron pan over high heat. As soon as it melted, I put the cod in the butter and turned it. I put it on a plate and gave both sides a generous dusting of the Old Bay With Blackened Spices Continue reading Old Bay With Blackened Seasoning, OK Seasoning, Not So OK For Blackened Spice
In my previous post, I smoked a sirloin tip roast and finished it on the Weber Barbecue. I’d bought the roast as it was on sale. They also had those designer little new potatoes in a small bag on sale. I normally never buy them because they are expensive. Also, if there are small new potatoes here in February, they have been trucked in from parts far away from here. Continue reading Crispy New Potatoes, In February?
Sometimes you just need a smokey, gooey barbecued chicken. This was one of those times. Continue reading Pecan Honey Barbecued Chicken, MMMM Good
I have been doing some renovations and have been busy with my duties in a local club. Therefore, there was little time for dinner.
I had some country style loin chops in the freezer. Continue reading Grilled Loin Chops, Country Style, Meal In A Hurry
Further to the prior post, we grilled pork last night. As long as the Weber Barbecue was fired up, I decided to grill some potato wedges.
I start with two fair sized baking potatoes. I cut each potato into six wedges. I tossed them in 2 tablespoons olive oil and 2 teaspoons steak spice. I used to use Montreal Steak Spice but I found one with no salt that had the same other flavours and I use it now. Just use your favourite steak spice. Continue reading Grilled Steakhouse Potato Wedges
It has actually warmed up to above freezing so I decided to grill last night. We had some Country Style Pork Loin Chops. I grilled them and some potato wedges (next post). She Who Must Be Obeyed made a salad and we had a great meal. Continue reading Grilled Pork Loin Chop, Country Style, a Great Dinner Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated
