Slice Your Steak, Fool Your Stomach

It is recommended that you only have two to three ounces of beef at a sitting. In one piece, that is about the size of a deck of playing cards. I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t look like much beef to me.

When we cook steak, we often slice it against the grain and serve it like a roast of beef. An ounce of sliced beef looks like a lot more than a chunk of beef that weighs one ounce. That is why delis and sandwich shops slice their meat thin, it looks like they are giving you more.

I know I am eating the same amount of meat whether it is sliced or not but I just feel like I am getting more when it is served sliced.

Try it!
