ABT’s, First Course of Canadian Thanksgiving

Last weekend was the Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend. Over the next couple of days, I will post some of the dishes we had.

I will start with Atomic Buffalo Treats or words to that effect. It is a family blog.

I started by mixing:

4 oz of cream cheese
1/2 cup of old cheddar cheese
1/4 cup finely chopped green onions

I sliced some jalapeno peppers lengthwise and stuffed them with the cheese. Then, I wrapped each half with 1/2 strip of bacon.

I put them on a smoker set up at 240 F. I left them for 2 1/2 hours but they were a little crisp. I will do 2 hours next time.

The Verdict

This is the first time I have tried these but it won’t be the last. They are absolutely delicious. Some spice offset by the creamy cheese and the salt of the bacon was just a wonderful combination. Try these!
