Campbell Soups announced their soup sales are down six percent. Good!
While I don’t want any business to fail and I want continued employment for their employees, canned soup just isn’t very good.
My mother would make me Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup when I was sick. I remembered it fondly as a comfort food that made me feel better. A couple of years ago, I was feeling poorly and decided to have a bowl of my childhood chicken noodle soup. I bought a can of Campbell’s Chicken Noodle soup and made it up. At first, the smell took me back to my youth. I tasted the soup and all I could taste was salt. There was practically no other taste.
I know it is handy to have a can of soup in the cupboard. However, if you make a gallon of soup and freeze it in individual servings, you will have real food that tastes great and is just as easy to make.
So, to Campbell Soups, good luck in the future but I will stick to home made soup.
