Cut Back On Your Snacking, Eat Fruit!

The major reasons I could not lose weight was I snacked so much. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I didn’t eat breakfast and I would be hungry by mid morning. I would buy some chips, a doughnut or a candy bar. In the evening, I would run into the same problem a couple of hours after dinner.

Several times I tried to stop snacking to try and lose weight. I failed miserably and felt like I was going through a hardship.

When I started eating breakfast, I would usually have a piece of fruit with breakfast or right after. After lunch and dinner, I have a piece of fruit. I find that an apple, orange or banana has a lot of bulk and I don’t want to snack as much as I used to.

So, now I eat snacks whenever I want one, it just doesn’t happen as often.

However, I do recommend you don’t keep chips, candy bars and commercial baked goods around. These are high in fat and sugar. Make your own muffins, cookies, English muffins, meat snacks, jerky, whatever. They may not be low calorie or low fat but they will be way better than the stuff you buy in a store.

So, eat fruit after every meal and keep home made snacks around the house. I feel like I am eating whenever I want, I do not feel like I am “dieting” and I enjoy my snacks when I want one.
