We were having a grilled pork steak for dinner and wanted it done quickly so I made grilled steak potatoes with it. Easy and quick!
You start by microwaving some potatoes until they are just done. Make sure you prick each several times with a fork or they may explode. Slice them about 1/2 inch thick. For this recipe, I like the red skinned potatoes like Norland but all will work.
Brush the potatoes with melted butter on one side.
Put them on a medium high grill, butter side down. Brush them again with butter. Grill until they are nicely browned and have good grill marks on the bottom. Turn them onto the warming rack above the grill and brush with butter again. Sprinkle your favourite steak spice over them. I used Cabela’s Open Season Whiskey Steak Spice but you could use Montreal Steak Spice or any other you fancy.
Leave them to keep warm until the steak, chop or whatever else you are cooking is done and Serve.
The Verdict: These are very easy, don’t require a lot of attention and are ready when your meat is. They are also very tasty. We make them all the time.
